This a funny book about a middle schooler troublemaker who was accidentally put into a gifted/talented program and changes everything. This is a funny and touching underdog story, there are lovable goofy adventures with robot fights, school dances, live experiments, and amazing pranks. But when Donovan Curtis pulls a major prank he thinks he's gone to far. But thanks to a mix up by one of the administrators instead of getting in trouble Donovan is sent to an Academy of Scholastic Distinction, a special program for gifted/talented kids. The book is he s adventures in the school it's a really good book and I would recommend it

        In Boy 21 there is two main lessons to learn. The first lesson in this book is to never judge a person before you get to know them. In this book Finley got invited to a dinner by his coach, without knowing what he was going to do. Finely then found out that he had to help out a kid that has gone mental after he lost his parents. The first time that Findly met Russ, Russ was a space freak and thought he was from another galaxy. Although he knows he is different Findly still helps him get familiar to the school and then becomes really good friends. Another well stated theme for this book is to do what's best for you and not for others. Towards the end of the book Findly gets off the bench andwalks out the gym because he wanted to see Erin in the hospital. Findly thought that being there for someone he loved would be better than playing a basketball game to get into the championship. I think Findly doing this really shows this.

Boy 21 signpost

Another signpost in the book boy 21 is a memory moment. A memory moment was when one is of the characters tells you a memory or has a flash back. In my case it's both Boy21 and Finley. This all happens when Boy21 takes Finley to a place to look at stars because Finley always does that with his girlfriend but while they are there Boy21 tells Finley what he remembered about his parent and also how and who killed them in California. Finley does the same thinking back even though he doesn't have many memories because all he talked about happened when he was little, Finley talked about what happened to his grandma and mom but mostly his mom and her story even though Finley's dad and grandpa made a rule to never talk about what had happened.

BOY 21 signpost

One sign post in boy 21 was a tough question. The question was should Finley stay in Belmont with Russell, Dad, and Grandpa or go start a new life with the women he loves and wants to spend the rest of his life with. The catch was he had to make the decision then and there because the train to the place that Erin was leaves in a couple of hours. So Finley has to choose between the women he loves but he would have to change his name and can't come back to Belmont, and there is a possiblility they they leave each other or Finley can stay in a ghetto town with his only family and friends. You will have to read the book to see where he goes.

Boy 21

Boy 21 is about a boy named Finley he lives in Belmont with his dad and grandpa and he loves to play basketball, and it's his senior year of highschool. He has a girlfriend named Erin that he trains with in the off season of basketball but just before the school year starts the coach needs Finley's help. One of coaches friend was killed with his wife the problem is they have a kid named Russell who went to private school and had collages swarm him to play basketball for there school. The problem is when Russell's parents died he moved to Belmont and starts going boy the name boy 21 and is in love with space. He fantasizes saying that his dead parent will come down from space and take him with them. Finley's job is to become friends with boy21 and get him ready for the school year and most important for couch the basketball season. If you want to know more read the book by Mathew Quick "BOY21"

Vietnam I pledge alligence

Vietnam I pledge alligence is about how a group of friends lives all get changed when one of the friends get a letter saying he is being drafted into the military. So when they here about the letter they all sign up to. They sign up to different branches of the military. This one book focuses on Morris who makes it his personal mission to watch over his friends while aboard the USS Boston ( he joined the navy ) but while trying to keep his friends safe he also has to keep his and the city of Boston safe.
